Deep Peace 2024

By Julie Wallace on December 23, 2024August 5, 2026

I started blogging a long time ago. I keep at it not because I make big bucks, but rather I enjoy the process.

This year has been a heck of a process, hasn’t it? It seems like most of my outward activity happened before July first.

Well, except for that bit in October. 🙂

And since then it’s been catching up and wondering where the year went.

Carry On

Heading into the depths of winter here in the Northern hemisphere makes me think of digging into myself. It’s cold and dark, and I really don’t want to go anywhere.

It’s an excellent time for deep self-inquiry. Try some of the techniques in Processing Your Issues from a couple years ago.

Here are a handful of other posts buried in this blog that may bring comfort as the year turns.

Quotes

December is super busy time for most people. If that’s you, head over to the quotes and sip some words of wisdom.

You can read one or a handful – there are more than a hundred different spiritual quotes I’ve collected over the years.

Joyful Peaceful

The next post will go live on January 6th. Until then, celebrate your blessings. Here are a couple of songs I’m particularly fond of at this time of the year.

First is Eric Faulkner’s Joyful Peaceful Christmas. It’s available as a free download from his website. “A wee donation to the fighting fund,” he writes, “would be appreciated.”

Listen here.

Deep Peace

I’m particularly fond of Donovan’s interpretation of Deep Peace from his Sutra’s recording.

Deep peace of the running wave to you
Deep peace of the flowing air to you
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you
Deep peace deep peace
Deep peace of the sleeping stones to you
Deep peace of the wandering wind to you
Deep peace of the flock of stars to you
Deep peace deep peace
Deep peace of the eastern wind to you
Deep peace of the western wind to you
Deep peace of the northern wind to you
Blue wind of the south to you
Pure red of the whirling flame to you
Pure white of the silver moon to you
Pure green of the emerald grass to you
Deep peace deep peace

Random Quote

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
